JOIN OUR BOARD
As we transform our organisation, the Board of Directors of BalletLab Association Inc, trading as ’Temperance Hall’, are seeking Directors to support the organisation's legacy as pinnacle creators of experimental dance, performance, and art.
Established in its current form in 2016, Temperance Hall is a South Melbourne-based performing arts organisation for experimental dance with a queer heart.
We manage a unique, heritage-listed venue for the presentation and development of our work and the work of others. We produce work in theatres and community places, live and online. We support and develop the work of emerging and mid-career independent artists and collectives. We partner with established artists, companies and festivals to spread our art and our resources. We tell stories with, by and for, the LGBTIQ+ community and share this artistic expression with the wider community.
In 2024, we are on the cusp of organisational change. We are seeking new Board members who can support the organisation to build on our legacy as pinnacle creators and curators of an unconventional artistic program of experimental dance, performance and art, inclusive of LGBTIQ+ and marginalised communities, nationally and internationally.
To complement and enhance existing skill sets, we are seeking a new Treasurer. This individual will ideally:
- Have a background in finance/accounting
- Have prior board experience, or strong experience with governance
- Be passionate about the arts
- Be Melbourne or Victoria-based.
At Temperance Hall we embrace the strength that diversity and inclusivity brings to our board. Applications are encouraged from women/gender diverse persons, people living with a disability and those who identify as First Nations, Black/POC and LGBTIQA+. Individuals with strong personal or professional connections to artistic practice are invited to apply.
